Banoffee Waffle

Lindsay was the first friend I made in London. I stayed in her flat the weekend I arrived. She introduced me to many people and many things. She also introduced me too these. No words can describe how fatty and delicious these are. I love that sugary goodness.

Farewell..

Eva is my wonderful Spanish friend from work. I work at Starbucks for anyone who doesn't know... You learn to love it.. Anyways, Eva is amazing! Always so much fun. always in a good mood. I was sad too see her leave. English is obviously her second language, we had plenty of fun as I tried to correct her English, and she tried to teach me Spanish. Ill always remember the time when we were discussing the new breakfast menu and she looked at me, with the most sincere and confused look on her face, she whispered, "excuse me, what are oats"
Sadly, I didnt really know what they were either. Except they were delicious.

Oh Princess

Went to the "Princess Diana Memorial" today with some friends after church. We found a nice patch of grass where we could sit in the sun, hear the rushing water, and have a picnic. This is my new favourite place in London. The design was by Kathryn Gustafson an amazing landscape architect.  One side is a "slow, rock and roll, sensuous piece," ending in a calm pool, while the other side is an "effervescent brook" cascading down. Simply beautiful. Its a piece of art you can connect with. If its not to chilly, you can take off your shoes and walk through the water. Many kids ran around through the different obstacles.

Simple Joys...

We spent over an hour making a million wishes.. It was well worth it. Everyone of mine has come true. Happiness can come so simply sometimes. I remember as a child on my way to school, their was a bunch of these on the way and everyday I would make a new wish. Happy Days Indeed.

Playing Logic

This amazing chess board was on our way home every day. It was lots of funsies. I totally won, as you can see in this picture. Laura did not have an epic comeback at all......

We also made a friend. A Winged cat. No seriously, it had wings. The photo doesn't give it justice. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?? Double Rainbow...

NEUSCHWANSTEIN!!!

We went to the actual sleeping beauty castle. NEUSCHWANSTEIN. Its only fun to say when you shout it. It was legit. As you all know I'm from Aussie land. We don't have castles. Castles are things you see on TV, or in Disney Movies. This was seriously incredible. Now where's my prince run off too..

The Climb

Feeling adventurous on this side of the world, we decided to try and find some "arena type thing" hidden in the woods. The directions we were given failed. The path also failed. So we made a new one... We climbed this HUGE mountain (it really was huge). Made it to the top with lots of sticks, leaves, and the occasional bug stuck around my shoes. It was well worth it with an incredible sight and the calm, soft feelings, only a forest on a beautiful day can bring. Ahhh the serenity!!!
The most attractive hikers you will ever see.
The incredible view.
Beautiful time of day.

Heidelberg

Not long after arriving in London, I packed my bags and headed to Heidelberg. I was lucky to have one of my closest friends living in Europe, only an hour or two away by plane! This was my first European experience. Loved every second of it. Its incredible witnessing a completely different culture, a whole new way of life, a whole new language! Lucky for me, Laura speaks German. Unlucky for me, we never found chicken schnitzels.

Simplicity

One of my main draws to this side of the world, is the architecture. I love architecture. I really really love architecture. Once i finish galavanting around the world, I will return home, go to uni, and become an architect. But for now I'm just going to experience the beautiful works of those before me. On my first day in London, all I wanted to do was explore. Admittingly, I didn't want to go to Trafalgar Sq or see the London eye. I wanted to see London in its simplest form. The beautiful local streets, the fruit and vege stores, the red post boxes. This is the first street I ever walked down. I fell in love with it.

Look, I'm in London!

I have finally taken the time out to jot down all the experiences I have in London. I have been here for 4 months now, and have been meaning to do this since the day I landed in this marvelous country. Hmmm, queen of procrastination? I obviously have a lot of catching up to do, so all my posts will be a mix of old, a mix of new, bear with me whilst I figure this all out.

Kid Kudi

Crush a bit, little bit, roll it up, take a hit
Feelin’ lit feelin’ light, 2 am summer night.
I don't care, hand on the wheel, drivin drunk, I'm doin’ my thang
Rollin the Midwest side and out livin’ my life getting’ out dreams

People told me slow my roll I'm screaming out f*** that
Imma do just what I want lookin’ ahead no turnin’ back
if I fall if I die know I lived it till the fullest
if I fall if I die know I lived and missed some bullets

I'm on the pursuit of happiness and I know everything that shine ain't always gonna be gold
I'll be fine once I get it, I'll be good.

I'm on the pursuit of happiness and I know everything that shine ain't always gonna be goldI'll be fine once I get it, I'll be good.

Tell me what you know about dreamin’ dreamin’
you don't really know about nothin’ nothin’
tell me what you know about them night terrors every night
5 am, cold sweats wakin’ up to the skies

Tell me what you know about dreams, dreams
tell me what you know about night terrors, nothin’
you don't really care about the trials of tomorrow
rather lay awake in a bed full of sorrow

I'm on the pursuit of happiness and I know everything that shine ain't always gonna be goldI'll be fine once I get it, I'll be good.

The Pursuit

My journey begins here. At least in written form it does. I'm 19 years old so Its already been a long journey for me. But now is the time I record it. I've never been good at keeping a journal. But my time here is something I never want to forget. This is also the easiest way to show you kids back home what Ive been doing. This is nothing like the Land Down Under. That's right, for those who dont know me, I'm an Australian. And I'm damn proud of it. Im fairly lucky to have dual citizenship (my father was born here). I am literally here just for fun, just because I wanted too, just because I could. So I am in London until I get bored, then I will head home. But first I want to visit 15 different countries, learn to speak another language, and experience as many things as I possible can. This is my journey. My pursuit of happiness.
